Agave worm salt (sal de gusano) for enhancing the mezcal tasting experience. Made of roasted and ground worms (from the larvae that inhabit the agave plant), chilies and salts. Traditionally served with orange slices, they can also be applied to the rim of a copita or cocktail vessel.
Made by Sal de Aqui, a Mexico City-based enterprise working with artisanal producers from 7 regions across México to curate and combine the best of México's native ingredients + cultural traditions. The salts, chilies and dried worm are ground in a volcanic rock molcajete. All ingredients are naturally procured and free of chemicals / chemical processes.
