Mezcal Jicara Copita - Dried Gourd Cup

Traditional jicara copitas, also known as dried gourd cups, are regularly used throughout southern México for sipping mezcal (and tequila). The wide mouth makes it easy to smell, sip and hold in your hand. Each one includes a small, handwoven palm base so the little cups sit perfectly on any surface. These dried gourd cups are excellent as drinking vessels, and are cute to use as small bowls for citrus slices, snacks, yogurt or dips.

While commonly referred to as dried gourds, jicaras are actually dried fruit from the Crescentia Cujete tree, which is commonly found throughout México and the Caribbean. They come in a variety of sizes, and are used as cups and bowls.

Jicara copitas are as sustainable as it gets - made entirely from dried fruit, and 100% compostable (both the copita and the palm base).

Make it a set, and pair with the black clay small plate (for holding salts / citrus slices) or the black clay mezcal vessel.
