Silvery black clay plates handcrafted in Oaxaca, México featuring a flat, rimless design and a marbled, polished finish. The texture and feel of the plates is reminiscent of honed stone. Each plate is a true piece of functional art.

Every plate is designed and produced in San Bartolo de Coyotepec, a community in Oaxaca with a long history of producing black clay pottery. All clay is locally sourced from the hills of the region and handmade (no pottery wheels are used).

A style of pottery unique to Oaxaca, black clay (barro negro) is distinguished by its color and silvery finish. It's origins date back centuries and the color is derived not from dye or glaze but from the use of special, locally-sourced clay. Every piece is hand-polished which results in a matte sheen.

Featuring silvery gray markings that create a marbled effect, reminiscent of honed stone. Handcrafted by master ceramicists, the pieces fuse ancestral techniques with contemporary design.

Dishwasher safe, however we recommend hand washing. Allow to fully dry before storing.
