Description

An exquisite black clay serving tray handcrafted in Oaxaca, México featuring an intricate spiky design influenced by pre-hispanic motifs. A definite statement piece ideally used as serving platter, a decorative catch-all, or a centerpiece. Each tray is made by hand in small batches in a process that utilizes no molds, synthetic materials or dyes.

Story

Produced in San Bartolo Coyotepec, a community in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico with a long history of producing barro negro pottery. All clay is locally sourced from the hills of the region and shaped by hand without the use of pottery wheels. The black clay, known as "barro negro," is a unique and revered material prized for its distinctive sheen and ability to be intricately shaped, creating exquisite pottery that reflects the region's rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

What We Love

A statement-making piece featuring matte black, earthy clay that is reminiscent of honed stone. Handcrafted by master ceramicists, the tray fuses ancestral techniques with contemporary design.
