Handwoven in Baja, México with dried palm leaves sourced both locally (in Baja) and from Guerrero (southern México). The leaves are cut into strips, moistened with water (for flexibility), and woven into their final shape. This large floor basket takes a full day to weave.
Palm baskets are highly sustainable, and made with only dried palm leaves. The palm fronds are trimmed from the trees (it does not damage the tree), and dried in the sun. The leaves are then cut into strips and woven into shape - no other materials are used. These baskets are finely crafted and will stand the test of time; however, when they do reach the end of their life, they are 100% bio-degradable / compostable.
